Flash Fiction February: Week 1 Directory
Check out all the prompts and entries right here!
For this year’s Flash Fiction February challenge, Leeron Heywood is helping me level up with all kinds of new elements. Part of this is a live look at entries for each of the day’s prompts and links for anyone who wants to check them out!
To help with that, I’ll be posting directories like this week for every week of the challenge. Here you will find the latest prompts and entries as well for you to browse. Please feel free to link to this post in your own entries for week 1, so more people can find and browse all the amazing work that’s sure to come!
Day 1 Prompt
Let’s start off with a look at the Prompt for Day 1:
Your first prompt is a combination of action and romance, asking you to tell the story of two lovers who find themselves on opposing sides of a large-scale battle.
Have you posted your own entry? Be sure to submit your link using the form below, and post it in my subscriber chat thread for Day 1 so others can check it out!

Day 2 Entries
We are still working hard on updates and improvements to these live entry tables! Than you to everyone who submitted feedback, and thank you to the community for your patience while we iron out any glitches behind the scenes.
And by “we,” I of course mean Leeron Heywood, who is our tech champion working hard to make everything run smoothly while also introducing new and exciting elements to these challenges!
Day 3 Prompt
For day three, I’m bringing back the WILD CARD! These special prompts will appear at random throughout the month. Last year, they meant you could pick the genre, and that’s still the case, however!
This year, they also include a special requirement you’ll need to weave into your entry.
Here’s what we’ve got:

Day 4 Prompt
For day 4, we’re switching up the genre to something a little more…cozy. That’s right! Today’s prompt is a cozy mystery with a few options for the POV you’d like to tell the story from.
Check it out:

Leeron Heywood is currently hard at work getting today’s live directory set up, so for now, please enjoy this hilarious photo of Lord Devereaux in a construction hat.
The directory will be live soon, but in the meantime, keep submitting your links via the form above! That part is working perfectly behind the scenes.
Day 5 Prompt
For this day’s prompt, you may choose to take on an optional challenge today. As many of you know, I have a connected Fantasy/Sci-fi universe called D’veen with standalone stories and an ongoing series. The stories often star (or are narrated) by a bard named Finton Merrybrook.
You can see him depicted above in art created by Tamsin E. Should you choose to write a story set in my realm, you can opt to join us for a mini D’veen Challenge, which is something I hosted last year during Flash Fiction February. Check my subscriber chat for all the details on this optional mini-challenge!
Day 5 Entries
All entries will appear here roughly one hour after they’re submitted through the form linked above!
Day 6 Prompt
For day six, we’re on to the new lands! Adventure! Intrigue! Danger, perhaps?

Day 7 Prompt
Today we’re back to horror, but with a thriller twist. You can choose to lean into either genre here, but I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

I LOVE having a Directory For all the stories! Ok....back to typing.
Just double checking.
