I Lived
Microfiction for The Halls of Pandemonium: Day 30
This is my entry for Day 30’s microfiction prompt in The Halls of Pandemonium challenge. Check out other entries from the final week here.
Death comes for us all, but somehow I thought it would skip me. I should be scared, but honestly? I’m relieved.
I’ve survived, but never lived. I’ve slept, but I’ve never had rest. I’ve fought for every sunrise, and for what? Just to be alone with my regrets?
I didn’t change the world, but maybe I changed a few lives? I left so many things undone. So many stories left unwritten.
I tried to make a difference. I really did. I know no one will remember that I died. But maybe, just maybe they’ll remember that I lived.
