Quantum Immortality
A poem
Quantum Immortality is a theoretical concept that suggests we never experience death. Instead, every time our lives end, we jump to another universe. Another timeline where we’re still alive.
This poem is inspired by that concept. Audio + headphones recommended.
Please enjoy.
Mine is a story without end. Each death, a new beginning. Falling once more into the river of time. Punishment for some long-forgotten crime.
A war of attrition. A battle unending. Different faces. Different places.
Turn the page. Time marches forward. Sometimes love, sometimes pain. Everything to lose, and nothing to gain.
I seek meaning In a meaningless loop. Few memories to call my own. I go where the cosmic wind has blown.
Your face is one of the few. I don’t recall your name. But every time I open my eyes, I seek your truth among the lies.
You are my reason to survive again and again. To wake up in a new way. And fight just to survive the day.
My one constant. My true north across time. In vast seas of infinity you are my divinity.
Tell me, am I destined To never know rest? To experience quantum immortality? Our soul’s one true commonality?
Because my experience is not unique. None I meet will know death. Their stories will start anew. I hope their memories fade like morning dew.
No one should be forced to remember a journey without end. Because without an ending to call our own our stories remain unknown.
