Dude, so far the interview is phenomenal - I really liked your dissection of Shakespeare and the different genre books sound like a genius idea! I'm at the ocarina of time/Majora's mask part now 🥰
Thank you! The show is really taking off lately. I’m excited to see where it goes! Tomorrow won’t have an episode since I’ll be traveling, but I’ll be back August 1st!
Oeeeeyoooo! I was out of town Friday - Monday, so just listened... wow. What an amazing episode! Thank you so much for opening the discussion about writing and the way you held space for all our shares. It was so amazing hearing all the different perspectives!!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, Kyra! Yeah, that new format for the writing discussion felt like an actual discussion, haha. I’ve heard a lot of positive feedback on it, so I think I’m gonna make it a regular thing on the show! 😁
Amazing episode! I loved the writing discussion. I gained incredible insight, and I extracted several key takeaways that I will put into practice in my own daily journey.
And that interview was a gem! I'm going to have to listen again with a notepad at hand.
I haven't had the chance to listen to all the stories yet, but this show fills my TBR list every week. 😊
Finally, thank you again for the superb feedback and unwavering support. Sometimes I feel like I don't manage to give back as much as I receive, but I try my best. I appreciate you so much!
Finally got through the excerpts Bradley tagged! And I gotta say...
Y'all are some talented writers. Wild stuff.
Also, at 1:00:51, we talk about ZELDA: MAJORA'S MASK, and I mention a YT video that talks about that game as a "Buddhist nightmare." Here's a link to that video -
Thank you so much, Mina! I’m truly proud of how the show has evolved, but as always, I couldn’t do it without all the support from this amazing community. 😁
Love what your doing on this substack with such a wide variety of voices & stories - It was Phillip's poignant story -The Rope that brought me here but I'm definitely going to check out more of your featured authors
Thank you so much for the kind words, James! Honestly, it has taken years and years of practice to achieve the energy and voice that I use on the podcast. My best friend of over 20 years is an animator, so throughout our friendship, we've done a lot of projects over the years where I had the opportunity to practice voice acting.
I also narrate a lot of my stories on here, which affords me even more practice. I'm sure you could cultivate your own voice as well, given time. Narrating some of your work on here could be a great starting point, for example. If you'd ever like any advice or tips, please don't hesitate to let me know!
And yes, I really enjoyed your story this week! Every writer struggles with their inner critic, so you're certainly not alone, but that's why it's good to get external feedback to balance that voice in your head.
Amazing! And yes, having a couple publications to organize your work is an excellent approach. I love the idea of both, and I'm looking forward to checking them out for sure.
You're also spot-on regarding the politics side of things. Life is stressful enough without adding that to your plate.
Oh man, this is going to have to be a two-day listen lol
It's so good so far!
Haha, all good! I figured an extra long episode was in order since I’m skipping next week due to my business trip.
I'm super stoked about it! I have two whole days that I can listen? Hell yeah, that's better than banana bread at work 😂
Haha, I love that old video.
BUT BANANA BREAD AT WORK TODAY, DUDE? HELL YEAH! 🤣
😂😂😂😂 me too
My new coworker brings banana bread all the time for her breakfast and I'm like "banana bread? At work today bro?" And she does NOT understand 😂
I hope you like it! ^.^

Oooooh delightful! I'm glad you're digging it.
The different heroes for different genres thing was a big epiphany moment for me!
Thanks so much for including my story. It’s very much appreciated.
Thanks for spreading the news about guest submissions for DREAD Reviews!
There's still more than 72 hours to submit a guest review for this week's issue that hasn't been filled.
Great podcast! First time I've heard your voice, perfect!
Thank you, Derek! I’m glad you enjoyed the episode! 😁
Thank you so much Bradley for featuring my stories!! I’m so so glad you enjoyed them, and it’s always wonderful to listen to your descriptions of them
Thanks Artemis! Your work is always an absolute joy to read, so I’m glad I was able to do your stories justice. 😁

(And, btw, Nala LOVED Smeagol's poem at the end. In the right werelight, she can totally see his skin going green ^.^ )
