“The house was like nothing she’d ever seen before,” Mabel said.
“Are you seriously narrating my own thoughts right now?” Rachel asked.
“What else am I supposed to do? You’ve been standing out here for ten minutes now!”
“I’m sorry. I know it’s been two years since the fire. I just…never thought I’d be back here.” Rachel said.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to go in.”
Rachel sighed. “If there’s any chance it wasn’t an accident, I have to know.”
“Come on, I’ll go in with you.”
HELP ME! I CAN’T BREATHE!
“What the fuck? Did you hear that?” Rachel asked.
“Hear what?”
HE SOAKED US IN GASOLINE!
“Ah, it’s so loud! How can you not hear that?”
“Rachel, come on, this isn’t funny.”
HE CAME BACK TO HIDE THE EVIDENCE.
“Someone is screaming to me inside my head. It sounds like my sister!” Rachel cried.
THE BEDROOM! THE VENT. YOU DROPPED THIS!
“Something about the bedroom and a vent?”
“Okay, just stay here, I’ll go look,” Mabel said.
“Just hurry!”
“Holy shit, Rachel, there’s a wallet in here. It must have fallen into the vent before the fire.”
OPEN IT!
“Is there an ID or something inside?” Rachel asked.
“Yeah, and I recognize this name. Take a look.”
“Isn’t that the guy who got accused of setting all those fires a few years back?” Rachel asked.
“Yeah, but he was acquitted. They couldn’t find any evidence.”
SEND HIM TO US! MAKE HIM BURN LIKE WE DID!
“Should we take this to the police? Mabel asked.
“They already let him go once. I think this time we pay him a visit ourselves.”
“Wait, what are you saying?” Mabel asked.
“I’m saying karma’s a bitch, and her name is Rachel.”
