I think you captured it! Her face popped into my head from forty years ago and made me smile. I lived your poem all those years ago and came out of the journey happy and then in love with the woman reading her book on the sofa. We have been happily married for 38 years now yet that forty year old memory still makes me smile, the pain gone. Thanks for the memory.

What a great line. What a great poem. I love how you twist the words into a poem. Not a fan of rhyming poetry, but you did greagreat here.

Thanks Chad! I do ten to lean towards poetry with a rhyme scheme because to me it sounds like good song lyrics. That being said, I do know that this style can be a double-edged sword, so I try to ensure the rhyming complements the message.
