I know this is reader's choice, but I was surprised by the decision to let that thing attack someone. It seemed a bit out of character for someone who knew first-hand the horrors of those things and was still haunted by the memories.

You bring up a really good point, Janine. I think if I was in full control, I wouldn’t have made the same choice, but I reconcile this particular one by thinking about how Reyna/Agent Philips is so focused on finding/stopping the Mother that she’s lost sight of herself in the pursuit of revenge.

That being said, I think I could have had her feel a bit more remorse in the moment, since she’s cold, but not unfeeling, so I definitely appreciate this feedback.

Depending on where the vote goes here in chapter three, I think we may see her either come to terms with this and redeem herself by saving her brother, or possibly risk losing herself entirely in this blind pursuit of justice and revenge.
