“Amen, may the old me rest in peace.” OR PIECES — no I really like the positive handle you’ve taken here and I love this little dialogue. It’s a free flow and I’m glad you put this here. The ending REALLY is amazing.
lol I am very sorry for my pessimism, I am purely talking in terms of myself. I look at my previous comment and it feels insensitive. I am glad you can portray your vulnerability like this, very human and connecting.
I do not typically spout Bible verses. Maybe I never have before. There are many stories in that book that are just stories, though they point to truths. I do not believe my path is the only one, that my faith is for everyone. There are certainly those that profess to be Christian that I question, based upon their actions, which speak louder than their words.
All that said, your words here bring to mind these:
He hath shown thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? (This is from Micah 6:8.)
Justice, mercy, and humility.
These are some attributes I see in you, from the things I have read from you. I also strive for those.
Thank you so much, Rose! I was raised Catholic, but these days, I consider myself more spiritual than religious. Even so, I believe words from all stories carry weight and meaning, so I think the verse you chose here is extremely relevant.
I hope to exude justice, mercy, and humility in my work and in my actions. I also strive to be authentic, empathetic, and supportive. As I often say, I'm here to put some good (and good stories) out into the world.
Thank you so much for reading and for leaving such a wonderful comment. I appreciate you!

Thank you! This was a vulnerable piece, but I’m proud of it. Appreciate you checking it out!
